Service Animal Advocacy was created after its Founder/CEO, Grace Miller, was diagnosed with a seizure disorder that was unresponsive to treatment. Grace realized she needed a service dog to help her regain a level of independence. She quickly discovered there were very few resources to help someone like her navigate this journey.
With the help and support of family and friends, she was able to raise funds for her new service dog only to be confronted with the daunting challenge of public access, unwanted, and sometimes hostile interactions with the public, aggressive Emotional Support Animals being passed off as “service animals” and outright discrimination.
It was during this time that the inspiration for Service Animal Advocacy formed. Our mission is to help bridge the information and resource gap between the disabled service animal handlers and their community
